You are invited to the Sunday Market
Set against the backdrop of the beloved Art in the Garden event, this addition promises a fusion of artisanal crafts, natural beauty, and community spirit. On Sunday June 16th, 2024, embark on a journey, where laughter, creativity, and a deep love for the land abound. Join us from 10am to 4pm for the one-of-a-kind event.
WHAT IS THE SUNDAY MARKET?
It's a platform to showcase the talents of those inspired by the land and to celebrate our connection with this beautiful space.
The Sunday market aims to foster a sense of gratitude for nature and to explore gardening practices that harmonize with it. Paul envisions it as a space where like-minded individuals can gather, interact with artisans, and share their passions, marking the beginning of a new gardening journey rooted in the wisdom of the natural world.
Five artisans who are all current instructors at The Cordwood Folk School (located 15 minutes west of Perth) and masters of their craft, will be selling their wares and demonstrating their process on Sunday only at Art in the Garden. You’ll hear the hammering, clinking, laughter, and general hubbub of this open-air market well before you enter. There will be a central area for visitors to sit, watch, eat lunch, and take in the excitement of the artisans at work around them.
Come immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and smells of this inaugural Medieval Market — Artisans at Work, presented by the Cordwood Folk School. To learn more about The Cordwood Folk School, visit www.thecordwoodstudio.com
Additionally, MERA will be at the Sunday market with lanterns and a basket-making demo. An art therapist and her daughter will also be present, offering a unique experience titled “How to Play with Natural Found Objects,” where they will guide you in discovering the artistic potential of natural materials.
On top of this excitement, students from Brooke Valley School will be offering portraiture services: take a seat, be the subject, and bring home a custom portrait. These talented students are practicing their portraiture in art class now and will be ready to offer you this unique, personal experience.
Tickets to Art in the Garden can be purchased for $5 in advance through Tickets Please or for $10 at the door. Additionally, parking is available for $5 per car (also available in advance from Tickets Please).
**This year, to celebrate the addition of the Sunday Medieval Market, visitors to Art in the Garden on Friday or Saturday will be offered free re-entry on Sunday. We don’t want you to miss out on the magic of the Sunday Medieval Market at Kiwi Gardens!
